There are several proved techniques for getting rid of ants , Try any of the following methods
- Salt,Camphor & Turmeric powder helps to reduce ants menace : Mix salt, turmeric powder ,& Camphor powder in equal proportions & sprinkle it in the areas where ants are more ,especially in the room corners & in the wall cracks .
- Aspartane for getting rid of ants : Sweet n low and Equal contain aspartane. Aspartane was originally formulated as an ant poison. Since it is sweet, the ants carry it back to nest and it kills them.
- Mix a borax and sugar-water solution for them to take back to the nest to kill the evil queen.
- Boric powder for killing ants -Sprinkle boric powder after cleaning the floor
- Peppermint oil for killing ants - Spray Peppermint oil
- Oil cleaner concentrate - I mixed about a half cup of the cleaner with a bucket of water (a bucket like the kind you might wash a car with) and then I poured that on the mound out in the yard. They havent been back since. But apparently (according to the tight wad gazette) it has to be orange OIL cleaner
- Alcohol and water mixture to kill ants -Spray Alcohol and water mixture
- Grits : Just sprinkle grits around the ant mound, they will take it into the hive, injest it, and it swells and kills them. Once it rains, you have to put more grits out. This is how I got rid of fire ants in Florida. Takes about a week to kill the mound completely.
- Vinegar : For ants on the counter top, wipe down counter top with white undiluted vinegar.
- Mint & Pepper : To prevent ants from coming into the house, or getting into cupboards, sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where they are entering the house and in the cupboards.
- Borax & Sugar : If you know where the anthills are make a mixture of 50 percent borax (sold in laundry aisle of supermarkets) and 50 percent confectioner's sugar and place near anthill. The ants are attracted to the sugar and carry the fatal borax/sugar combination back to the nest to feed the queen and other ants. Soon all ants will be dead. Do not put this mixture where children and pets can ingest it.
- Boiled water : To get rid of anthills, pour 3 gallons of boiling water down them. This is best when done when the ants are active and at the surface.
- Baking yeast,molasses : A safe way to trap pesky little ants without poison.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup baking yeast
1/2 cup molasses
6 3x5 inch index cards
Mix all ingredients together and then smear a thin layer on each of the index cards. Use a rubber spatula to spread the mixture on the cards. Put the index cards in places that you have seen ants. - Diatomaceous earth is a natural, non-toxic compound that will kill ants, fleas and ticks.
- Bate powder Sprinkle a bate powder on the ground where they are coming in, they will take it up into the nest and kill all the ants in the walls that you can't see. Make sure that you check the foundation frequently for new activity, if you see any, get your bate out and sprinkle it right away before they start coming in again.
- Chlorine : Kill Ants with a Glass of pure chlorine. The one that its used for the washing machine
- Detergent : Spraying a solution of dishwashing detergent like Dawn or Joy kills aphids
- Black pepper : Spray black pepper to kill ants
- Dishsoap :put a small container of water with a few drops of lemon dishsoap and it usually does the trick

- Corn mill :Put corn mill around your house and in your window seals, the ants take it back to the nest and try to eat it but they can not digest it and it kills them it may take a couple of days to a week.
